MY
Approach
I believe mediation works best when everyone feels heard and respected. My role is to create a neutral space where parties can have productive conversations and explore creative solutions together.
Experience That Matters
I regularly mediate employment disputes involving discrimination, retaliation, wage and hour issues, and workplace conflicts under federal and state laws including Title VII, the ADA, FMLA, and New York's Human Rights Laws. I also handle consumer protection cases, accessibility claims, and various other civil disputes. Beyond my experience as a neutral, I have decades of experience litigating claims across the country involving employment, education, and other civil rights claims, along with breach of contract, defamation and other tort cases. My extensive experience in federal and state court allows me to help parties consider both the legal issues in dispute as well as the economic and intangible issues that any party should consider prior to or while litigating a matter. Whether we meet in person or virtually, I adapt to what works best for your case.
Setting Everyone Up for Success
Successful mediations don't happen by accident. I work with counsel before we meet to understand what makes each case unique and identify any information that should be shared in advance. This preparation—including confidential calls with each side—helps everyone arrive ready to engage meaningfully. Because trust is essential to the process, I take time to understand what counsel believes will be key to resolution. Every dispute has its own dynamics, and I tailor my approach accordingly.
Commitment Beyond the Session
My philosophy is that mediation is never a waste. Even when cases don't settle during mediation, they often lay the foundation for resolution later, or help parties understand and sometimes narrow the issues. I follow up appropriately with counsel to ensure we haven't missed any opportunities for resolution.
Finding the Right Fit
Choosing a mediator is an important decision. I'm always happy to speak with counsel about my approach and whether I'd be a good match for your client's specific situation.
Reasonable and Flexible Terms
I believe cost shouldn't prevent parties from trying mediation. My rates are competitive, with flexible policies designed to support resolution. In appropriate cases, I may adjust or waive fees. Please don't hesitate to reach out with questions—detailed rates and policies can be found here.
